According to reports filtering in from Yobe state, soldiers brutally
dispersed Dariqa Muslims conducting Maulud celebrations in front of Emir
of Fika Palace yesterday in Potiskum... The crowd of Muslims gathered
in front of the palace of the Emir of Fika, Alhaji Muhammadu Abali Ibn
Muhammad Idriss, to celebrate the event as done before in previous
years.
Soldiers from nowhere immediately stormed the venue to disperse the
crowd who all took to their heels with many abandoning their footwear
and other items to avoid being caught up after the pandemonium broke
out.
